Here’s below the tutorial to install QuickSet in Windows 7, and it should works in Dell Inspiron 6000 as well.

- Go to support.dell.com and enter your service tag
- Download the installation program for QuickSet (R130907.EXE, version 7.1.10.)
- Right click on that file and select Properties
- Choose Compatibility tab,
- Select “Change settings for all users” and enter your administrator password
- Select “Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)”
- Right click the file and run as administrator
- Now you can follow through the installation, and reboot when it asks.

After completely install QuickSet on Inspiron 6000, it will displays the volume properly when you press the front volume buttons. If it does, then all of the keys functions should works fine.
